You don't have to be wealthy to make a difference," says Andres, who explains that most of the more than $1.3 million in donations to the project to date derived from mor than 20,000 contributors, a vast majority of whom sent in $30 checks. "People want to help the people of Darfur, but the problem is so big, most people are overwhelmed by it and feel powerless," she says. "This project makes the plight accesible to caring individuals.
